Background:
Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan approved research project titled: “HIV/AIDS SENISTIZATION-SELF DISASTER MANAGEMENT AMONG HIJRAS (EUNCHES) IN FAISALBAD” under Social Integration Outreach Programme (SIOP). It was a joint venture between HEC and GC University. And both institutions, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan and GCUF have released the funds for the implementations of the project titled “HIV/AIDS Sensitization-Self Disaster Management AmongHijras (EUNCHES) in Faisalabad’.
Objectives of the Training:
The proposed objective of the project will be following:
- To provide a healthy and informative training regarding the awareness and precautionary measures of HIV/AIDs
- Deliver the session on the awareness of HIV/AIDs and self-disaster management to the Hijras.
- To provide the knowledge about methods of safe sex for the prevention of transmission of HIV/AIDs
- Session regarding myths about HIV/AIDS transmission in daily life to avoid stigmatization.
- To provide clinical knowledge and consultation regarding treatment of HIV/AIDs through the training.
Trainer’s Profile:
- 1 must be master degree holder in Sociology and 2nd has a degree of clinical psychology or MBBS .
- Trainer should have rich knowledge on HIV/AIDS, and training experience, especially at community level trainings.
- The purpose of the training would be to provide clear guidelines, tools, techniques for effectively and efficiently imparting the training content which would directly help to achieve the project objectives in a desirable manner.
Training details:
The training will consist of 3 days capacity building session/trainings for the HIJRAS (EUNCHES) in district Faisalabad. The participants will include 10 to 15 HIJRAS.
