In order to enhance the awareness of Quality Assurance Mechanism in Higher Education, a one day Workshop on the subject of “Quality Assurance Mechanism in Higher Education” was organized by Quality Enhancement Cell, Government College University, Faisalabad with the collaboration of Learning Innovation Division & Technical Support of Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), HEC, at Government College University, Faisalabad on January 11, 2011. The objective of this workshop is to train the participants (Program Teams & HODs) and to share the views on Quality Assurance Mechanism in Higher Education.
Three resource persons, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Dean Sciences/ Ex- Director, Quality Enhancement Cell, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul-Hassan, Director, QEC, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Siddiqui, Director, Academics/QEC, Government College University, Faisalabad were invited to share their knowledge about the subject with the participants.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar,Rector, National Textile University, Faisalabad who shared his views about Quality Assurance Mechanism in Higher Education and the closing ceremony was chaired by Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Zakir Hussain, Vice Chancellor, Government College University, Faisalabad. He thanked to HEC for their collaboration in this regard. The Vice Chancellor has given stress on Peer Review which is planned to get from all the academic departments of the University.
The workshop focused on brief discussion on Quality Assurance Mechanism by Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, the functions of Quality Enhancement Cells by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zubair Siddiqui, Director Academics/QEC, Government College University, Faisalabad, External Quality Assurance System by Prof. Dr. Ashraf and Internal Quality Assurance System by Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul-Hassan. The question answer session cleared many points related to the subject.
The Workshop was helpful to provide orientation and awareness about Quality Assurance Mechanism in Higher Education to the participants.
