4th International Conference & 13th National Meeting of Plant Scientists held in SBBU, Shringel Upper Dir, organized by of the Pakistan Botanical Society

[caption id="attachment_6101" align="alignleft" width="300"] Dr. Tehreema Iftikhar awarded shield in recognition of the participation from Government College University, Faisalabad[/caption] Dr. Tehreema Iftikhar, Department of Botany, Government College University, Faisalabad attended the 4th International Conference & 13th National Meeting of Plant Scientists organized by “Pakistan Botanical Society” held at “Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Shringel, Upper Dir” from 27th to 30th August, 2014. One of her PhD Scholar, Mr. Muhammad Kamran Bashir given an oral talk on “Slaughter house soil: a novel source of thermostable lipase production”. A second oral talk was given by Dr. Tehreema Iftikhar entitled “Mutagenic strain improvement of a research culture of Aspergillus niger for enhanced production of lipases”. Three MSc students have also presented their work in the form of posters. A total of four posters and two oral talks was presented by the Department of Botany, Government College University Faisalabad. A shield was presented to Dr. Tehreema Iftikhar, Department of Botany, Government College University, Faisalabad in recognition of her participation in conference by Prof. Khan Bahadur Marwat (Vice Chancellor, SBBU/President PBS) in the presence of guest of honors, Prof. Anwar Nasim (Secretary General, Pakistan Academy of Sciences) & Prof. Zabta Khan Shinwari (Chairperson of Biotechnology, Qaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad). Further, the lectures delivered by the eminent scientists will be consolidated in the form of a special issue of “Pakistan Journal Botany” having the impact factor of 1.207.  The Conference was an exclusive opportunity for the Plant scientists to meet each other and exchange their ideas and research work in the subject of Botany. A visit to Kumrat Valley was also the part of the conference in order to study the vegetation in natural habitat. Participants of the delegate are highly thankful to the Vice Chancellor, Government College University, Faisalabad for his support and encouragement.
